MEET THE DOC
FIELDS DELMAR M.D. M.P.H. (they/them)
As a young person, I realized that I did not fit into the script of the world around me. As I grew, I noticed that this was a far more universal experience than unique. With a community of support, I have been able to connect to the essence of my being, and summon the courage and safety to express it outwardly.
The worlds we encounter as people and patients are often exclusive to those that fit certain criteria. Both individuals and systems cause enormous harm when they are exclusive in these ways. The stakes are high when those systems of exclusion are also designated to provide health care and healing.
Collectively, we can build and mold the systems to better reflect our diverse humanity, our diverse strengths, feelings and needs. All systems will benefit from this effort.
With that vision in mind, I root my clinical practice from seeds of equity, inclusivity and curiosity.
